Worcester College II

Worcester College II is a quiet, atmospheric study of the college grounds and their reflective waters, from a pair of closely related paintings supplied together (see also Worcester College, EMG-390, since sold). Laura Middleton focuses less on architectural detail and more on the experience of looking across the surface of the lake, where trees, sky and surrounding vegetation dissolve into shifting areas of colour.

Shown together, the pair creates a particularly strong dialogue: each offers a slightly different viewpoint, allowing the viewer to move between two moments within the same landscape rather than seeing the scene as a single fixed image.
